December Game Day Report

For the first time in ages we managed to have a game day in December!

We started with Mysterium. Since we were learning the game we played on the easy level.  Jess did a masterful job as the ghost and we won.  Mark’s comment was that this game was so not me.  This is true, but I do like to have at least one good game in my collection of even genres that I don’t usually like.  And I like this game enough to keep it.

Second we played The Quacks of Quedlinburg with the Herb Witches expansion.  The general take on this expansion is to never play without it, and I agree.  Just the 5th player was worth it, but the other other changes make it better.  As far as I’m concerned it replaces everything in the push-your-luck genre that isn’t very light.

Last we played Space Base with the Shy Pluto expansion fully integrated.  The reactions here were mixed.  It added some variety, but we’re not sure that a Pluto-focused strategy is viable.  It can be largely ignored if desired, so it will probably stay in place.

Happy holidays to all!
