DragonFlight was much as it usually is, though the hotel added gates to their parking lot. Thankfully, free parking passes were available from the DragonFlight staff.
We managed to keep in touch with Marty throughout, and even ended up accidentally having lunch with him at Azteca on Saturday after he showed up at the table next to ours shortly after we sat down.
On Friday, we played a couple games of Chez Geek, then a game of Dune, which was quite enjoyable and interesting, neither of us having played it before.
On Saturday, we did 1 game of Flashpoint: Fire Rescue with Marty, and 2 games of Forbidden Desert, which he had just picked up from a vendor. Forbidden Desert seems like a nice complexity (and difficulty) step up from Forbidden Island, despite having a lot in common.
After Marty left to host a game, we played an interesting light train game called Spectral Rails. Afterwards we tried Robo Rally, which had potential, but was a bit of a brain-burner for the evening, and very unforgiving of mistakes, in addition to having a runaway leader problem.
On Sunday, we played a very slow game of Merchant of Venus (new version) with 2 newbies that failed to finish before the 6PM deadline.
