We started with a game of Quest for El Dorado. Dave trained the others and then sat out/GM’d/“helped.” I think we had thumbs up all around. Coming it 45+ minutes and mid-light to mid, depending on the players, it probably qualifies as a super filler. I will be getting the expansion for it when it comes out that should take it to 6 players. Definitely a keeper.
After that we split into 3 and 2 because Merchant of Venus 2nd ed. only plays to 4. Rick, Jess and Alex played that.
Mark and I started with Dominion 2nd edition. We played with three of the new 2nd edition cards. They seemed to be fine.
After that we literally took the shrink wrap off of Orleans, punched it out, learned it and played it. I usually don’t report who wins the games, but in this case you should know that Mark totally plastered me. I had some amazingly bad luck (and no skill, having no clue how to play the game). Regardless, it gets thumbs up from both of us. Another keeper. Interestingly, there is an expansion for it that turns it into a co-op game. Probably another purchase.
A good day and a good chance to kick the tires on some new stuff.
