September Game Day Report

Today, as is our usual habit in September, was co-op game day.  We also played some other games.  With 6 we were split into two groups.

Mark Christensen is in town and joined us.  And our son, Jamie, was also here.  So we had multiple special guests!

We played:
3 games of Escape - all wins - including one with an expansion that was well received (and that really brought the stress back into the game)
Pandemic at normal difficulty - a win.  We had a very unusual turn of roles, cards and initial disease outbreaks that allowed us to eradicate a disease after only three rounds.
2 games of Defenders of the Realm - one loss and one very long win (like three standard deviations off the norm long).  The conclusion is that this game should be played with 4 heros, even if there are less than 4 players.
Forbidden Desert - which looked like a relatively easy win (I’ve yet to be in a winning game).
Sea Kings - a new game that got thumbs down (sigh).  I will give it one more try with an included expansion that increases interaction.  If this isn’t a “fix” then the game goes on the trade-away shelf.
Star Realms - bashing good fun

The next game day is scheduled for 10/17.  This is Dave’s choice day.  It is likely that this will mean a lot of new games.  Mark your calendars now!  I will send out rules reading assignments later.
