We played two space themed card games yesterday: Among the Stars and Core Worlds - both with new expansions. Between the expansions and AtS being new to us and it being a long time since we last played CW, both games took longer than they would normally.
The expansions both add new depth/complexity to the games. Overall it seemed like the AtS expansion improved the game - giving a player with truly lousy cards something else meaningful to do and adding a new path to points. We were less enthusiastic about the expansion for Core Worlds - it also added more depth, but also seemed to bog down a game that usually clips along at a good pace. More play of both are probably in order.
The next game day is 6/13. This will be Rick’s choice. Please let me know if you will be able to attend.
Snacks are assigned to Jessica.
