Today we had a special game day since Gerry was in town. His son-in-law, Jason, also joined us - so we had 8 in attendance.
In honor of this fantastic turnout (and remembering how tight it was last time we had 8), I built an extension onto the gaming table. So we can now have two large games and/or 8 people without difficulty.
We broke up into two flights of 4 for today. Flight one played the new version of Merchant of Venus. The other flight played Russian Railroads and Lost Valley. All three of these games are good - definitely going to stay in my collection. There isn’t ever a trivial decision in Russian Railroads. Lost Valley plays very differently each time and just overflows with theme.
Dave’s shared components box of dice games is headed to Europe with Marty. It is going to be quite well traveled.
The next game day is scheduled for 11/22. Right now I have Jess, Alex, Rick and Marty as “yes” and Don as “maybe.” Our son, daughter-in-law (Sas) and grandsons will be here that weekend. Jamie and Sas may join us - they haven’t decided yet. Don, do you have an update on your availability? If we stay at 5 we’ll have one flight. If we go to 6 or more we will probably have two. Alex is pondering if he wants to again delay his choice day or not. If he does, 11/22 will be new games day. Otherwise it is Alex’s choice. And if Jamie and Sas join us I’ll probably let them pick the second flight. Hopefully we’ll have all these moving parts nailed down soon - and if game choice voting is in order I’ll get that out to you ASAP.
