Today we played Core Worlds and Formula D (new improved bits version).
The Core Worlds game went really long. We had to relearn the base game and learn the expansion - and we engaged in a bit of AP. My take on the expansion was that it greatly improved an already good game - no reason to not play with it.
Formula D has much better bits, but it's the same roll the dice/press your luck game - if you want a racing simulation look elsewhere. The winner came bolting from behind and took the game with two great rolls at the end. Such is Formula D. But the stick shifts are still really cool.
This summer is going to be a little different than our usual pattern. I'm going to try to put a game day together in late July - 7/27 to be specific. If you can make it on that day, please let me know. If their schedules will allow we might have Mark with us and/or Marty's wife. This day won't have a specific theme, although I'd like to keep the day light - nothing too heavy or two long. Playing multiple games will be a goal.
On the flip side, I will repeat that it is highly likely that I will not be at Dragonflight this year - it just doesn't fit well with the rest of our schedule. I hope that the balance of the regular attenders will go and have a great time!
Again, please let me know as soon as you can about whether you think you can make it on 7/27.
